About

‘We all have mental health just as we have physical health - it moves up and down along a spectrum from good to poor.’

What are we doing?

VictoriaPlum.com’s Wellbeing site has been created as part of a joint project with Mental Health First Aiders and our People team. We’re encouraging everyone to talk freely about mental health and seek support when we need it. We spend a third of our adult lives in the workplace, and we shouldn’t have to leave our mental health at the door each morning.

Our core mission is to ensure that all colleagues feel supported, are aware of the available wellbeing and mental health resources and that the causes of work-related mental health problems are acknowledged and addressed.

This website is our commitment to that mission.

What can we do?

Mental Health First Aiders aren’t therapists or doctors. We’re trained to recognise the signs of mental ill-health and provide support and assistance, but a big part of what we do is listen. We care about your wellbeing, we do not judge and we will keep your confidence, in line with our safeguarding promise. If you don’t feel comfortable speaking to someone in the workplace, there are hundreds of resources available and we’ve put details of access to free and fast counselling here.

What do we want to achieve?

  • Remove any stigma attached to mental health
  • Develop our workplace culture to support well-being
  • We want everyone to feel just as able to talk about their mental health as they are physical health
  • Promote a non-judgemental and supportive environment
  • Identify stress and mental ill health earlier so that support can be provided
  • Use the resources we have available to get help for those suffering with mental health issues in a timely manner
  • Resources and contacts to be displayed in all hubs
